leased to offer the next installment of the Becoming a Resilient Sc
ientist (BRS) series for trainees and fellows at all levels in the
 biomedical\, behavioral\, and social sciences.

The goal of this seri
es is to help trainees develop the resilience they need to navigate challen
ging situations at work and in life. The series will consist of five webina
rs\, each followed by a small group discussion the following week. The webi
nars will highlight emotional intelligence competencies needed for academic
success and for thriving in research and healthcare careers. We will discu
ss the cultivation of skills to help trainees realize resilience and identi
fy and deal with obstacles that get in their way. The small group discussio
ns are a chance to engage in an active\, facilitated conversation with peer
s related to the webinar materials. This series is an excellent leadership
development opportunity to learn skills trainees can use for themselves\, t
heir career\, and when they are a leader themselves. While trainees may par
ticipate in any of the webinars\, it is best to participate in the entire s
eries as the material relates and concepts will be developed throughout the
series. Data shows that trainees who attended most of the Becoming the Res
ilient Scientist series felt that they have become more resilient and were
better able to handle stress and conflict in their lives. The workshops and
group discussions in the series are:

Unit 1. An Introduction to
 Resilience and Wellness

Unit 2. Exploring our Self-Talk: Cognitive
 Distortions and Imposter Fears

Unit 3. Self-Advocacy and Assertive
ness for Scientists

Unit 4. Developing Feedback Resilience

Unit 5. Managing Up to Maximize Mentoring Relationships
Note: Ther
e will be no group discussion for Unit 5

The serie
s will start on September 23rd\, 2024\, and will run until Novem
ber 18th\, 2024. There is no charge for participation\,
but advanced registration is required. Webinars will be recorded and share
d with all registrants. For more information\, please visit our <a href=
