My primary research interest is the etiology of Parkinson disease. My current research involves primarily occupational and environmental epidemiology of Parkinson disease with emphasis on metal neurotoxicity. Current research in my lab includes a cohort study of welders assessing risk of parkinsonism using clinical and biomarkers of parkinsonism, a geographic informations systems study of risk factors for parkinsonism, a study of the relationship between Mn and liver failure, and neuropathology of chronic Mn exposure.
