Gillian S. Mayersohn, PsyD

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

BJC HealthCare (BJC)

I am the pediatric psychologist for the Solid Organ Transplant, Cardiology, and Dialysis teams at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH). This role includes providing direct clinical care to pediatric patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings, conducting psychosocial quality improvement programming and research, leading an interdisciplinary psychosocial team, and engaging in clinical supervision of students and fellows. Although I have a broad background in pediatric psychology, much of my specific expertise is in the psychosocial care of pediatric patients with congenital cardiac conditions, end-organ disease, and solid organ transplant and their families. This includes substantial training and interest in pre-transplant psychosocial evaluation, health behavior promotion, family and sibling well-being, and palliative and end-of-life-care. I have collaborated with medical teams and other psychologists to create successful research studies examining psychosocial outcomes, adherence, quality of life, and posttraumatic growth in pediatric transplant patients.
