My research is primarily focused on the surveillance and prevention of healthcare associated infections (HAI), including catheter-associated bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, and ventilator-associated pneumonia, as well as the nosocomial spread of multidrug resistant organisms such as methiciilin-resistant Staphlyococcus aureus (MRSA). I am interested in cost effective interventions to prevent HAI. I am also very interested in automated surveillance for HAI using laboratory and clinical data that are available electronically.
