Dr. Bacharier is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical Director of the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology & Pulmonary Medicine. He has been an active investigator in several NHLBI-funded asthma programs, including the Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) and Childhood Asthma Research and Education (CARE) Network programs.  He is the Principal Investigator (Pediatrics) of the NHLBI’s AsthmaNet, has served as Co-Principal Investigator for all clinical activities at the St. Louis CARE Clinical Center. He served as the Principal Investigator for the CARE Network’s fourth clinical trial, Acute Intervention Management Strategies (AIMS), as well as a study examining the relationship between spirometry findings and asthma severity in children which was performed by a sub-set of the CARE centers. He is also investigating the determinants of asthma following severe RSV bronchiolitis.
