Pamela K. Xaverius, PhD

Assistant Professor

Saint Louis University (SLU)

My research focuses on improving the health of women, children, and families and reducing health disparities. I have been awarded grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), March of Dimes (MOD), Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), and the St. Louis Regional Health Commission. The MOD grant is providing four years of funding to change the system of prenatal care delivery. The RWJF grant analyzed data from a national data set, exploring racial, ethnic and immigrant disparities in preconception health. Grants from the St. Louis Regional Health Commission and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are evaluating health care needs and systems of care regarding preconception health in St. Louis. I am also a past health disparities scholar through the NIH.
