Rachita N. Navara, MD

Cardiology Fellow Physician

Washington University in St. Louis (WU)

Dr. Rachita Navara is a bioengineer and cardiology fellow physician subspecializing in electrophysiology (EP). In medical school at UT Southwestern, she harnessed her engineering skills to analyze intravascular ultrasound data and became a lead author on the four-year ACE-CTO clinical trial. In residency at Stanford University, Dr. Navara was awarded a competitive Society of Physician Scholars grant to research mechanisms of atrial fibrillation at the Computational Arrhythmia Research Laboratory. She joined cardiology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, conducting novel research at the Center for Noninvasive Cardiac Radioablation. Dr. Navara’s EP startup company SafeBeat Rx was competitively selected into BioGenerator’s “Grants-2-Business” program, and she submitted her first investigator-led NIH STTR grant (co-PI: Dr. Albert Lai, I2 Deputy Director). Dr. Navara aspires to lead a research lab conducting trials on devices and technologies she designed herself. Her lifelong passion is to apply her engineering background to transform arrhythmia management.
