My research interests broadly lie in developing as well as applying machine learning and data science techniques to solve problems in bioinformatics, computational social sciences, geopolitical event forecasting, and cyber-security. My focus is on devising methods for forecasting societal population-level events (e.g., flu outbreak, civil unrest, and violent events) and cyber attacks, inferring coevolving entities and their interactions in complex systems, and modeling behavior (such as prejudice and ideological leanings) in social systems.
