I am interested in understanding protein turnover in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and how these processes relate to disease pathogenesis. Using stable isotope labeling of amino acids methods, I am able to calculate the half-life of target proteins in specific tissues of ALS animal models, as well as human cerebrospinal fluid.
