Clinically, my research interests primarily focus on investigating the pathologies associated with and the treatment of hemorrhagic shock. My bioengineering lab interest focus primarily on developing novel, bio-inspired synthetic materials and investigating the effects of surface chemistry/structure on biocompatibility. I plan to apply the information gained in the latter to help work toward the development of long-circulating hemoglobin based oxygen carriers to treat hemorrhagic shock.
