My research is centered in the Mouse Cardiovascular Phenotyping Core. This core provides phenotyping support to a growing number of investigators interested in utilizing murine models to gain insights into the pathogenesis of cardiac arrhythmias, ventricular hypertrophy, myocardial ischemia or infarct remodeling. Specifically, I am involved in developing and implementing new surgical models of cardiovascular disease in mice. These models are then used to study how novel interventions, drug therapy, gene therapy, and imaging techniques can be used to further understand the human cardiac disease processes.
