I am a pediatric neurologist driven to provide optimal neurological outcomes for all infants at increased risk for neurodevelopmental disability. My research efforts focus upon the application of a new neuroimaging technique, functional connectivity magnetic resonance imaging (fcMRI), to the study of premature and healthy, term-born infants in an effort to characterize development of the earliest functional cerebral connections and investigate developmental differences in prematurely-born subjects. My clinical efforts are dedicated to the Neonatal Neurology Clinical Service, a multidisciplinary, integrated clinical program devoted to providing comprehensive neurological clinical care for infants at risk for adverse neurological outcomes beginning during their initial hospitalization and continuing following discharge.
