Understanding molecular mechanisms and searching for novel therapeutic interventions for cerebrovascular and cognitive deficits associated with CNS disorders, such as aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), and ischemic brain injury. One major focus of research is on exploring molecular mechanisms of cerebrovascular dysfunction, vasospasm, and cognitive impairment following SAH. Another area of our research is on understanding the basic mechanisms underlying the effects of amyloid-beta on cerebrovascular dysfunction and how this dysfunction contributes to CAA, Alzheimer’s disease, and ischemic brain injury.
