From a clinical perspective, my practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery for all urologic cancers. As one of the busiest robotic surgeons at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, I have focused on the evolving role of robotic surgery for complete bladder removal and urinary reconstruction.
My research has focused on comparative effectiveness of different minimally invasive approaches to urologic cancers as well as evaluating the role of diagnostic tests (imaging and biomarkers) in prostate cancer diagnosis. While I have secured foundation and investigator initiated funding studying the role of magnetic resonance imaging in prostate cancer detection, I continue to compete for national peer-reviewed grant funding.
