My lab is interested in studying the cellular and mechanisms of neural growth, synapse formation, and synaptic plasticity, specifically, how genetic and environment factors influence the morphogenesis and functional properties of neurons and network, with the hope to help discover fundamental mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for neural developmental (e.g. autism spectrum), degenerative (Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s) and psychiatric (schizophrenia) disorders.
