Dr. Gorse’s research interests are centered on vaccine development and clinical trials evaluating from Phases 1 to 3 the safety, immunogenicity and efficacy of investigational vaccine candidates. Also, he has an interest in characterizing the clinical consequences of viral respiratory diseases on the health of older adults with underlying chronic pulmonary, heart and metabolic diseases. Assessing the humoral and cellular immunologic responses to and clinical manifestations and epidemiology of human coronavirus infections, and correlations of these with viral genetic variability have been ongoing research goals.
