My research is focused on the effects of age-related hearing loss on the brain and behavior. I use EEG and behavioral measures to study how auditory deprivation and stimulation may change the neural registration and use of sound for higher level processes such as speech and language understanding. I am also interested in the role non-auditory factors (cognitive abilities, quality of life, etc.) play in perceived hearing handicap and treatment decisions in older adults with age-related hearing loss.
