I study pediatric malnutrition in global health settings, including Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Ghana. Particular interests include improving the formulation of ready-to-use therapeutic food for children with severe acute malnutrition, refining treatment of moderate acute malnutrition, and prevention and treatment of stunting and wasting using insights from study of the fecal microbiome and metabolome as well as from investigation of the small bowel inflammatory disorder, environmental enteric dysfunction.
