My aim is to improve patient care for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit, particularly for extremely preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, whose NICU courses are often the longest in duration. I’m currently investigating family communication surrounding neonatal tracheostomy decision-making, as well as the impact of social determinants of health on timing of tracheostomy placement for NICU infants across the U.S.
