My research focuses on understanding the impact of intergenerational trauma among refugee children whose parents have experienced war trauma. In particular, I am interested in how children in different settings such as refugee camps and those who have been resettled in the west are impacted by the trauma their parents experienced. Beyond understanding the impact of intergenerational trauma, I am interested in designing interventions that can address mental health of adolescents who have experienced war trauma directly as well as those who may have experienced it through intergenerational transmission of trauma.
