I am a practicing Emergency Physician. My laboratory focuses on the study of human patients with viral respiratory diseases. We perform translational immunology research using unique clinical specimens such as human lymph node aspirations and lower airway bronchoalveolar lavage samples obtained from individuals following acute respiratory virus infection or vaccination. Our long-term goal is understanding the human immune response to viral respiratory infection in order to develop improved vaccines and treatments for patients with these diseases.
