Our work is focused on the intensive study of the host, most particularly the child, and the host’s intestinal microbiota in health and disease. We study diverse aspects of this interaction, including specific pathogens (especially diarrheagenic E. coli such as E. coli O157:H7), and human microbial communities, such as in inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohns Disease and ulcerative colitis.
