I am interested in the pathogenesis and natural history of atrial fibrillation. In particular, I am intrigued by the progression of atrial fibrillation from paroxysmal to persistent, the role of protein expression, inflammation and fibrosis, and the possibility of targeted pharmacological or invasive therapeutics. I am also interested in simplifying the procedure for catheter based ablation of atrial fibrillation, and decreasing the procedural complications and vascular risks.
