My research interest is in public health economics. One of my past studies investigate the drivers and consequences of participants voluntarily dropping out from clinical trials. In another research, we study the value of medical innovation in the context of infectious disease. A dynamic framework is applied to evaluate an HIV treatment breakthrough known as HAART. We show how, in lowering both the expected cost and likelihood of HIV infection, HAART has shifted individual sex behaviors and increase the value from the perspective of uninfected agents.
