My research project aims to use single-cell RNA sequencing data to identify genes that influence microglia cells in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. By analyzing the gene expression patterns of individual microglia cells, differentially expressed genes can be identified and functionally annotated to understand their potential roles in microglia function and disease pathology. The project’s ultimate goal is to gain new insights into the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and identify novel therapeutic targets for these diseases, which could lead to the development of new treatments.
