ICTS Community Researchers are encouraged to work with our Core Units, all of which are available for service. However, some core units will require partnership with Washington University Principal Investigators, as these cores can only operate with a WU Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval. An IRB, also known as an ethics review board, is a committee that has been formally designated to approve, monitor, and review biomedical and behavioral research involving humans in order to protect human subjects from physical or psychological harm. IRBs are responsible for critical oversight functions for research conducted on human subjects that are 'scientific', 'ethical', and 'regulatory'. Please note that you still may initially contact any core to ensure they offer what you are looking for. Search our member directory to see a list of all WU ICTS members and their specialties, or click on a category to the left to get started.
