I am an infectious diseases physician with a sense of urgency about saving antibiotics for the future. My frustration with seeing my patients’ bladder flora become more resistant after courses of unnecessary antibiotics led to my current research interests: (1) novel strategies for prevention and management of UTI (urinary tract infection), including bacteriophage, (2) implementation of antibiotic stewardship guidelines, particularly for UTI, and (3) prevention of non-prescription use of antibiotics in the community. My research includes translational components, some traditional microbiology, clinical trials, and implementation science.
