Satya VVN Kothapalli, PhD

Instructor in Radiology

Washington University in St. Louis (WU)

Dr. Kothapalli is interested to develop a novel quantitative magnetic resonance imaging method for distinguishing the micro-structural changes in the brain that related to early Alzheimer disease pathology from the healthy aging brains. In addition, he also engaging the following projects in Prof. Yablonskiy lab: (1) assessing the inter- and intra-scan reproducibility of quantitative gradient recalled echo sequence, (2) studying age-related neuronal tissue evolution in the human brain; (3) classifying different tissue relaxation behaviors and clustering the similar relaxation behaviors to obtain the brain regions segmentation, to improve the signal to noise ratio; and (4) quantification of Iron using a MRI metric R2t* relaxation parameter and quantitative susceptibility imaging in deep gray matter for patients with AD.
