She completed her undergraduate degree at Yale University, medical school and residency at the University of Michigan, and fellowship at Emory University. Drawing from her MA in Anthropology and MSc in Clinical Research, Dr. Ramakrishnan focuses on applying implementation science to study and improve domestic HIV prevention and care, particularly for cisgender women. Her scholarship has included an implementation science-informed national analysis of provider knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy in PrEP care to improve PrEP care delivery in Title X clinics throughout the South, substance use treatment and HIV outcomes among women with HIV in the WIHS cohort, implementation of mobile healthcare to improve perinatal HIV care during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more recently HIV and PrEP healthcare patient preferences, using discrete choice experiments, and retention patterns, using multistate epidemiological models, in St. Louis, MO.
