My research interest focuses on neonatal brain development, brain injury and neuroprotection of the newborn. Using an array of physical examination, bedside physiology monitoring, EEG and near infrared spectroscopy and neuroimaging I conduct clinical and translational research into understanding neonatal brain injury and evaluate the impact of clinical interventions on neurodevelopmental impact of high risk neonates. Populations of interest include premature infants, neonatal encephalopathy and neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome.
