Dr. Arash Nazeri is a practicing neuroradiologist and physician-scientist with expertise in computational neuroimaging and advanced preclinical and clinical MRI techniques. His lab, Brain Fluid Translational Imaging (BraFTI), focuses on: 1) developing imaging methods to characterize brain parenchymal microstructure, fluid compartments, and neurofluid dynamics in health and disease, and 2) perturbing brain fluid compartments with the aim to develop novel therapeutic/diagnostic approaches. He has developed novel methods to analyze white/gray-matter microstructure for studying brain changes across brain disorders. He has also extended diffusion-based imaging to study CSF circulation, relevant to a range of disorders. On the interventional side of the spectrum, Dr. Nazeri has been involved in focused ultrasound research utilizing low-intensity focused ultrasound as a versatile tool to perturb brain fluid compartments for enhanced drug delivery and liquid biopsy. As co-director of Advanced Imaging in neuroradiology, I aim to merge research advancements with clinical applications, enhancing patient care.
