I have a longstanding interest in the pathogenesis of metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH, previously known as NASH). I am specifically interested in determining the role of lipid species other than triglyceride in causing hepatocyte stress and death. I am also interested in improving our understanding of the heterogeneity of MASH based on differences in genetic variants and environmental/dietary exposures and how we can use this understanding to guide precision medicine approaches to prevention and treatment.
