Charles Goss, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics and Director of the Center for Biostatistics and Data Science (CBDS) at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His research focuses on the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trials and epidemiological studies. He has served as the lead statistician in a variety of biomedical research areas, including implementation science, infectious diseases (lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, HIV, COVID-19, TB), asthma and airway diseases, organ diseases and transplantation (kidney, liver, heart), and orthopedic surgery. He also currently leads statistical efforts on several international projects. These include large-scale clinical trials to evaluate implementation science approaches to improve health outcomes in persons living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa; drug safety and efficacy clinical trials for the treatment of lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs); and statistical training courses to build biostatistical capacity in LMICs.
