The focus of my laboratory is to investigate the molecular/biochemical pathogenesis of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) in mineralized and non-mineralized tissues, with a recent focus to develop alternative therapeutic strategies to enhance bone quality and biomechanical integrity. ). My research interests cover a broad spectrum of biochemistry, molecular biology, medical genetics, connective tissue disorders, extracellular matrix biology, biomechanical testing of mineralized and non-mineralized tissues, and more recently skeletal muscle biology and contractile function. Our research utilizes mouse models of OI and myostatin deficiency.
