By developing partnerships between community organizations, government agencies, universities, and research institutes, Dan Ferris leads a variety of collaborative initiatives related to advancing community and population health. His research has focused on participation in Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs (e.g., WIC, school meals), the design, implementation, and evaluation of food-is-medicine interventions, and health care administration. Ferris leads Data for Social Impact, an initiative funded by the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, and is developing a participatory research agenda for understanding and innovation around social sector capacity and connectivity in equitable, community-centered data practice and strategy.
