Darlene Louis Charles is a public health researcher with a primary focus on communicable diseases and health disparities. Her work examines the psychosocial and structural barriers that impact healthcare access, HIV testing, and antiretroviral therapy adherence in underserved and high-risk populations. She is particularly interested in exploring how social determinants of health influence the spread, prevention, and management of infectious diseases. By integrating epidemiology and health equity, Darlene’s research aims to inform policy-driven interventions and improve health outcomes for communities disproportionately affected by communicable diseases.
