I am currently funded as a principal investigator of a prospective imaging trial, the PHOTON study, which explores the use of photon-counting CT angiography in coronary plaque characterization. My research will lead hopefully show us how we can use novel and innovative imaging techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy for coronary disease. Through this project and several others, I am also nurturing research paths for promising cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents through the Mentors in Medicine program. I have been a site-PI for several multi-center investigations such as PRECISE, EMERALD-II, and more recently for the TRANSFORM trial, headed by Drs. Deepak Bhatt and Udo Hoffman. These investigations have all been focused on the evolving role coronary CT has and will continue to play in the refined assessment of coronary risk and how interventions using this information will impact clinical outcomes.
