My research portfolio is dedicated to advancing our understanding and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. I serve as Principal Investigator for multiple NIH-funded and industry-supported clinical trials, including the CHESS trial (a $17.9 million NIH-funded study on embolization versus surgery for chronic subdural hematomas). I also have received grants for other translational research projects which are in various stages of completion. I continue to engage with federal funding agencies to develop new clinical trials related to stroke, and Neurosurgery treatments. My work has resulted in over 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations. I am committed to fostering a research environment that bridges basic science and clinical application, securing extramural funding, and mentoring the next generation of physician-scientists.
