The focus of this grant is to study the pathophysiology of mitral regurgitation. It is our hypothesis that myocardial strain obtained from MR imaging will be able to accurately quantitate the injury pattern for patients with mitral regurgitation and furthermore identify a point at which the myocardial injury is no longer reversible.
