My research program investigates mechanisms associated with ocular immunity in the context of ocular immune privilege and in autoimmune uveitis. We explore where antigens from the intraocular space interface with the adaptive immune system, and how we can interrupt the pathways of antigen drainage, T cell surveillance, and antigen presentation with the eye during pathology to uncover novel therapeutic targets that can be used to improve the treatment of human disease.
