My research interests involve understanding microbial pathogenesis and the host immune response as it pertains to human health, specifically to respiratory diseases. Pathogens I have and am currently studying include Streptococcus pneumoniae, Influenza A virus, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. I am currently researching the role of alveolar macrophages during Klebsiella lung infection and the efficacy of various capsule-based vaccine delivery methods.
