My primary research directions investigate the intersection of emotion and cognition in late life. The majority of my research has examined behavioral and neural markers of how cognitive aging affects emotional memory and emotion processing, with additional projects examining how symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders affect these processes. Another substantial area of my research has investigated how Alzheimer’s disease differs from the normal aging process.
