Broadly, my research has three main themes: 1) identification and validation of imaging and therapeutic biomarkers in health and disease, in particular manifestation of metabolic disorders such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, and cardiovascular disease; 2) development of artificial tissue system to study tissue-specific mechanisms of disease and characterization of biomarkers; and finally, 3) computational modeling of disease mechanisms to integrate computational models with quantitative imaging techniques (such as PET) in order to personalize therapy.
