Dr. Gewin is interested in the mechanisms of tubule injury and repair as they relate to acute and chronic kidney injury. Her lab focuses both on the role of growth factors but also changes in tubular metabolism in the context of injury. Her goal is to define which of these changes are adaptive versus maladaptive to facilitate better treatment of acute and chronic kidney injuries.
