My research efforts have been most successful with collaborative models. I have assisted Dr. Cynthia Russell, who has led our team investigation to assess and improve medication adherence among renal transplant candidates and recipients. This effort led to the award of NIDDK funding for 2014 to 2018. I have also developed basic science collaborations with Dr. Yujiang Fang; with students and residents, we have studied the relationship of several cytokines with prostate, bladder and other cancer. Other scholarly research has included mentoring medical students and urology residents at the University of Missouri assessing clinical research questions.
