Mohamed G. Hassan, DDS, MSC, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Washington University in St. Louis (WU)

Dr. Mohamed G. Hassan is an orthodontist-scientist interested in craniofacial research and clinical orthodontics. With a foundation in both dental training and biomedical science, his work bridges the gap between fundamental research and its application in patient care. His research focuses on bone biology, craniofacial regeneration, and the role of immune mechanisms in bone healing. He has received recognition for his scholarly work, including a Fulbright Scholarship at UCSF, and Rita Levi-Montalcini Postdoctoral Fellowship where he collaborated with leading researchers in skeletal regeneration. His interdisciplinary approach combines cutting-edge techniques such as state-of-art 3D cellular imaging, in vivo microCT imaging, and computational modeling to uncover the mechanisms underlying accelerated bone healing. Beyond research, Dr. Hassan is actively involved in mentorship, scientific communication, and professional organizations, frequently presenting at international conferences.
