Nancy Morrow-Howell, PhD, is the Ralph and Muriel Pumphrey Professor of Social Work and the Director of the Center for Aging at Washington University. Her research interests include productive engagement and social engagement in later life. In respect to productive aging, she focuses on volunteering and civic service in later life. She studies the health effects of productive engagement as well as institutional strategies to increase the positive impact of engagement in an aging society. She has organized several conferences on productive aging with Chinese colleagues.
