My research focuses on how kidney metabolism influences injury, repair, and progression to chronic disease. Specifically, I investigate the role of fatty acid oxidation and metabolic reprogramming in proximal tubules during acute kidney injury. Using a combination of mouse genetic models, metabolic flux analyses, and advanced imaging and omics approaches, my work aims to uncover novel mechanisms that connect energy metabolism to tissue repair. The ultimate goal of this research is to identify metabolic pathways that can be targeted to improve kidney recovery and prevent long-term complications, paving the way for new therapeutic strategies in renal disease.
