Dr. Khan is a cancer epidemiologist, and broadly her research focuses on improving outcomes and reducing disparities among cancer survivors. Specifically, her primary research focus is on improving prostate cancer outcomes and survivorship by improving our understanding of risk factors for adverse prostate outcomes including tumor aggressiveness, recurrence, and survival. Her work has focused on modifiable risk factors such as diabetes and obesity as well as the impact of related medications and comorbidities on prostate cancer survivorship, utilizing both racially-diverse cohort studies as well as registry data including the VA.
