My research focuses on advancing health equity in dermatology through the lens of skin of color (SOC). I investigate diagnostic disparities and treatment variation in SOC patients across conditions including Hidradenitis Suppurativa and Psoriasis, with emphasis on how delayed diagnosis affects patient outcomes. Complementing this clinical work, I conduct transcriptomic analyses to identify inflammatory signaling pathways and disease mechanisms in conditions such as Psoriasis, Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma, and Atopic Dermatitis. My work further integrates comorbidity stratification to better characterize disease burden across diverse patient populations. By bridging molecular research with clinical epidemiology, I aim to identify actionable targets that reduce disparities, improve diagnostic accuracy, and inform more equitable, precision-based treatment strategies for historically underrepresented patient populations in dermatologic care.
